Vaccine Safety: Speaker opportunity at PhV day 2019 conference

It was an absolute pleasure to attend “PhV Day 2019” on 26 July 2019 at Kohinoor hotel, Mumbai as a Speaker. I owe this opportunity to Dr.Vijay Venkatraman, Managing director and CEO  of Oviya MedSafe, and a well-known PV expert and a one of the key person in my professional circle who motivates me to learn PV more every day.

Dr.Vijay venkatraman, Durga Mane (Associate Director Delivery excellence Cognizant) and Me

I had privilege of talking about vaccine safety, and the role of different stakeholders in ensuring safety of vaccines such as WHO, National Regulatory Agencies, pharmaceutical companies, healthcare professionals and consumers. I took this opportunity to emphasize regarding  key challenges that are unique to vaccines, few  solutions for such challenges and recent advances in vaccines. I shared the message that vaccine safety is a key to ensure success of vaccination programs across world. Vaccines are important treatment modality that save millions of live every year . I also shared the differences in vaccine pharmacovigilance and drug pharmacovigilance in terms of differences in ICSR management, RMPs, risk minimization measures, signal detection.

Pharmacovigilance Day (PhV day 2019) is a conference which is organized by Life Science Academy which is the EasyB’s business unit. In India this was 4th conference on 26 July 2019, which was attended by approx 50-60 members comprising of domain experts from Govt (Regulators), pharmaceutical companies, service providers, academic institutes.
